UEMATSU K - 上松K
Uematsu K is a project space gallery composed of a small Western-style gallery alongside a Japanese-style room with a tokonoma alcove. The space supports exhibitions that explore both contemporary display methods and traditional Japanese formats.
Together, the two rooms allow exhibitions to unfold across contrasting spatial conditions while inviting different ways of encountering the work.
For residency artists
At the conclusion of a residency, participating artists may, if interested in extending the visibility of their work, choose to leave a work with the gallery for possible inclusion in future curated exhibitions.
For external artists and curators
Uematsu K also welcomes proposals from artists and curators interested in presenting exhibitions or projects in the space. Exhibitions may be organized through curatorial invitation, project proposals, or independent use of the gallery on a rental basis.
Proposals are reviewed on an ongoing basis and should consider the specific character of the two rooms and their different modes of display.
